What is a Life Coach?

A Life Coach provides an alliance, a partnership, that helps you to reach your goals and potenital. Martha uses an amazing tool called, The Core Energy Coaching Process.™  in working with her clients.  This state of the art tool helps you discover how to connect what you want with who you are. Specialized strategies bring about extraordinary and sustainable results as you experience higher levels of energy and access exactly how to move forward. In the process, an individual is able to identify what stands in the way. The desired results translate into success, your style.

Coaching provides a dynamic partnership by providing a supportive and non-judgmental space for you to consider trying new things to create what you want for your career and life. Your coach ‘holds your space and agenda’. A specific set of processes and coaching tools form a ‘map’ of how to move forward. You’ll see things more clearly as you learn exactly how your thoughts, feelings and attitudes drive you. You see new ways to break negative habits and acquire new ones that work in your favor. This all leads to powerful and positive action steps, one by one, giving you the results you want.

What types of people have Coaches?

More and more, people from all walks of life work with Career, Leadership and Life Coaches to help attain their goals. NOT EVERYONE IS A CERTIFIED AND TRAINED COACH. So, remember to ask. Coaches work with people in all areas of their life including relationships, career, finance, health, fun, personal growth, professional development, and more. Working with a coach is not limited to any type of person, but is best for those who want to take initiative in their own life. People who get a coach are committed to a more successful and fulfilled life, and are willing to do the work to get there.

Do I really need a Coach, can’t I just do it by myself?

Coaching can take you above and beyond your own personal limitations. In coaching I use specific tools and strategies, proven to help people move forward faster, easier and with less stress.  Often, people might try to achieve greater results, reaching new goals, but they often don’t realize what stops them or gets in the way of their best intentions.  As a coach I offer an unbiased and objective perspective, based on extensive training and can help you realize your patterns, blocks and habits that interfere with progress at every turn.  Most people find they are more efficient working with a coach. Coaching can make your goals attainable with an accountability plan in place and will give you the kind of support and encouragement that helps you to create lasting change.

How is Coaching different from Therapy?

While coaching can be therapeutic, it is not therapy. Coaching is distinct from traditional therapy because it is not designed to address psychological issues. While emotional issues may arise, the primary focus of coaching is to help you identify your goals, achieve them, and develop effective habits and skills. There is little emphasis placed on the past with coaching, but instead the focus is on creating what you want now and in the future. If someone is in therapy, it is essential that your counselor or therapist know that you are seeing a coach.

How long do people generally work with a Coach?

To experience the effectiveness of a coaching program, an initial three-month commitment is recommended. Because coaching is a partnership, at the end of the three months we evaluate progress and options for continued coaching will be offered. You may cancel at any time, however, great strides can be achieved with the initial 3, 6 or 12 month commitment.  The longer term coaching is what real life transformation is about.

Is Coaching confidential?

What is discussed will be held in strictest confidence and not shared with others. However, discussions are not privileged for legal purposes. The privilege of confidentiality that legally exists for the clergy, therapists and attorneys is not granted to coaching professionals. Coaching is a confidential process and your personal information will always be protected.
